When fully immunized, an individual can resume their normal activities without wearing a face mask, according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).Despite this, wearing a mask is still recommended even after a vaccine has been administered. Here's why:

1.) Doubling up on your defenses

When you have been exposed to people in an environment where social distancing is not possible, wearing a face mask can help prevent you from contracting the virus due to its high transmission rate and rapid spread. We have no way of knowing who is sick or not. When you're fully vaccinated, wearing a face mask is perfectly acceptable, right?

2.) Protect the people around you

Just because you've been vaccinated doesn't mean everyone around you or your family is! Especially when you're indoors and out in the open, putting on a mask is a no-brainer.

3.) Getting vaccinated doesn't make you immune to the virus

This means that even if you have a vaccine that has been approved, you may still contract the virus. The fact that this is a rare occurrence does not diminish the fact that it is extremely dangerous. Prevention is always better than cure!

4.) As required by law or in some areas

Masks must be worn by those who are not allowed to be vaccinated, such as children (2 years older) and those with compromised immune systems, for example. Low-vaccination-rate areas are also at a greater risk for virus infection. Remember to wear your face mask!

Keeping you and those around you safe is important to us. At this point, it's better to choose the best solution than to exacerbate the problem.

Doubling your defenses, whether you're vaccinated or not, may not make much difference, but if we're all on the same boat, we're off to a better start!
